Although the 1938 Servi-Cycle appears very similar to the '37 model in most respects, it actually has many changes. In fact, it was advertised "With 16 remarkable Advancements for Greater Power, Beauty, Performance". These included:
- Increased power through improvements to the rotary valve and carburetor
- A heavier, stronger frame using 16 gauge, 1" tubing
- Larger brakes
- A redesigned fuel tank with a new mounting lug on the front
- The compression release is now built into the throttle grip. The compression release is opened as the twist grip is turned, eventually closing just before the throttle begins to activate.
- A new air cleaner which mounts to the left frame upright under the seat.
- The motor is now mounted top and bottom to reduce vibration
- New color: Modernistic Metallic Blue (red and other colors available for $5 extra)
The engine serial number begins with the two digit year designation "38" instead of previous models which began with the four digit year designation. The seat is the same as the '37 model. This is the last year for the narrower 26"x2.125" tires.
As with the '37, the '38 has a Miller dual-bulb headlight with parking lamp and generator; there is no taillight. A reflector is used on the rear fender.
The selling price in December 1937 was $140.
